In spite of all the odds, what makes a woman stand out?

In a male-dominated market, sometimes it gets competitive, aggressive, and harsh, but successful women entrepreneurs stay true to themselves and their own voice. The challenges and hurdles faced by women who have embraced entrepreneurship are vast and often very different from those experienced by their male counterparts. When women gather all their strengths and surge forward towards their goals, no power on Earth can stop them from reaching there.

Balancing business and family life 

Most of the women who work before marriage are forced to leave their respective jobs or profession in order to take care of the family or children. Even under all these circumstances, some women excel in their careers and most of them peculiarly thank their family and spouse for their support and being understanding towards their passion for working.  Parent entrepreneurs have dual responsibilities, to their businesses and to their families. Finding ways to devote time to both is key to achieving that elusive work-life balance. The reason women do it better is because they are better at building long-term relationships than men. Lasting relationships benefit a business tremendously, with employees, customers, suppliers, shareholders, government, etc.

Challenges faced

Women face a lot of challenges during the progress towards their goals, they may be confronted with more difficulties created by the outside world. What is worse is the gravity of laziness, disinterest, contentment that keeps pulling them back to the start line. Not just women but people suffer from either of the two or sometimes from both: the difficulties posed by the outside world and the draw-backs generated by the self. Everyone needs to become firm in their pursuit, and stronger when they fall. Determination and persistence to hold on and the strength to bounce back after the fall is what makes successful entrepreneurs.

As adults somehow it gets difficult to have determination and persistence consistently.  But as Children, everyone had both these qualities. A child does not easily give up. If there is play-thing that they want, they get it. Even if it is placed at a high place beyond her reach; they pull all the furniture’s around to scale up, or pile up all the books nearby, climb on it, or keeps jumping higher and higher till they get to that thing they wanted. If they happen to fall down, they gather themselves and get back to it. Even if bruised in the fall or sprained an ankle, gets up to make a go at it again.

If everyone had these qualities in their childhood, why don’t they possess them now as an adult? Why do some people easily give up? At the sight of a meek resistance, they fold up and quit. The fact is that the qualities are still there within, they are still very much there alive inside. Only that now people have a choice on them whether to exhibit them or choose not to.

The vision

Women with a strong vision can strive for anything that they desire. They don’t need to do something extraordinary like become the president or have extremely huge ambitions or get Nobel prizes, they don’t have to create this opportunity to thrive but can thrive anything that they choose, just have to find the confidence within themselves. But having a goal in mind is necessary to know how much to work in order to reach there.

Setting goals

Goals keep attracting us towards it, as long as we keep imaging about it. When we stop imagining the desired goal or outcome, it loses the power to attract us. For example, a magnet will continue to attract as long as the electric current keeps flowing in the coil surrounding it. When the current is cut off, then the magnet loses its magnetism and becomes a piece of iron after a while. Right, in the same manner, our Goals keep attracting us towards it, as long as we keep imaging it. When we stop imagining the desired outcome, it loses the power to attract us. So think right because your thoughts attract the future you desire.

The pandemic

During these tough times of the pandemic, many people lost their jobs but according to the survey, most men lost their jobs. As many factories and huge industries and multi-national companies laid off their employees as the company couldn’t generate any kind of revenue and the ones who had their job were given a salary cut. In such a situation a woman’s habit of saving helped the family sustain and the family did not go in such big troubles. The burden on the man is reduced when his wife or daughter or sister also contributes towards the income of the family. The pandemic has taught us all.

A women’s sacrifice

There are so many instances where qualified women who have excelled in their education and professional career give up everything for their husband and child’s future. However, the trend is changing now as there are many companies that give women the flexibility to work from home. Due to technology and Covid, many people have realized that a lot of productive work can be done from home too where people especially women can balance their work and family together. There is a quote that says that ‘behind every successful man is a woman’. This simply means support and sacrifice the woman gives of her own dreams to fulfill the dreams of her family.

The power and capacity a woman holds are beyond imagination. For the women who think that they are equal to men are wrong, I say women are much stronger than men. Here is to all strong women, May we know them, raise them and encourage them to be the best and stand out from the rest.
